Weekly Update July 3, 2025

July 3, 2025

To: Solheim Employees, Residents, Family Members and Stakeholders
From:
Sam Oden, CEO of Solheim Senior Community
(Note: Due to the 4th of July holiday, this will serve as our Weekly Update.)

On July 4th, we celebrate the independence of our Nation and honor those who gave their lives for our freedom, along with our forefathers who built the framework for our country today. Independence Day is truly the most patriotic of all of America’s national holidays—and however you choose to celebrate this wonderful commemoration of the founding of this great Nation (be it by enjoying picnics, barbeques, fireworks shows, family gatherings, or simply reflecting on the legacy of our country), I wish our entire extended Solheim Family a very safe and happy 4th of July!

Be sure to join us on Friday July 4th at 3pm in our Residential Dining Room for Patriotic Music with Bob Brandzel’s Band! The July calendar has been posted, and you may also view the daily activities by tuning into our Solheim In-House Channel 1390 for our community activities!  As the weather warms, we’re enjoying all that summer has to offer!  Check your calendars and our In-House Channel often and join in the festivities!

Please note that the Merton and Manor Main Dining Room Refresh is set to begin on Monday, July 14th. One week later than we originally anticipated.  This project will follow the successful completion of the Merton Manor corridor renovation and includes new paint, carpeting, and LVP flooring to enhance both the comfort and visual appeal of our dining space.

To minimize disruption during construction—which is expected to last approximately seven days—a temporary dining plan has been put in place:

  • Breakfast will be served as a hot buffet in the Navigage Room, with a Grab-and-Go Station available in the Fountain Room for lighter fare.

  • Lunch will be served in both the Navigage Room and the Sensory Patio, with two seatings at 11:45 AM and 12:30 PM.  Residents may choose their preferred dining location—no assigned seating will be in effect during this time.

  • Dinner will be served exclusively on the Sensory Patio.

  • Complimentary tray service will be available to anyone who prefers to dine in their home.

All staff in our Skilled Nursing Campus must wear a well-fitting, high-quality mask or higher-level respirator. Visitors to our Health Center (Skilled Nursing) are required to wear a mask and will be offered a COVID-19 antigen test before entry.
