To: Solheim Employees, Residents, Family Members and Stakeholders
From: Sam Oden, CEO of Solheim Senior Community
Our Employees of the Quarter for the 1st Quarter of 2024 have been announced! They are Jocelyn Costales in our Skilled Nursing Campus; Beverly Nieva in Dining; Denise Medina in Activities; Willian Salmeron Rivera in Facilities; and Maria Zuniga in our Residential Care Campus (Halvorson Memory Care and Residential/Assisted Living). Each of them has gone above and beyond to help make Solheim a loving home for so many. Please congratulate them when you see them!
As a reminder, your “Solheim Feeling” Employee Recognition Nominations help us to select our Employees of the Quarters and choose our Employee of the Year… so please be sure to share your recognition of our wonderful employees by filling out a nomination card that can be found at our Front Desk, or any Nursing Station. You may also visit www.solheimsenior.org/employee-recognition . We love to share your kind words with our fantastic staff!
As I mentioned earlier, we’re eagerly anticipating Team Member Appreciation Week set to take place from next week! This dedicated week is a time to honor and celebrate the incredible dedication of our staff who tirelessly contribute to our mission of fostering abundant living for our residents. We have an exciting line up of celebrations planned, including dress-up days (which we enthusiastically encourage everyone to join in), surprises, and plenty of fun-filled activities. Let’s come together to show our appreciation for the incredible team that makes Solheim shine!
If you’re interested in sponsoring activities for one of these special days, please reach out to Tina Antypas. Alternately, you may make a donation at www.solheimsenior.org/donate and select the Employee Appreciation option. Thank you for your generosity and commitment to our Solheim Community.
I am thrilled to announce significant leadership advancements within our community. Firstly, it is with great pleasure that we announce the promotion of Meg Pierce to the role of Chief Operating Officer. Meg brings nearly a decade of rich experience in the senior living industry, demonstrating unwavering dedication and a deep understanding of our community's needs. In her new role, Meg will have oversight of our healthcare services as well as our facilities department, ensuring a holistic approach to our operational excellence. I am confident in Meg’s ability to steer our operations with grace and proficiency, enhancing the quality of life for both our residents and staff.
Additionally, we are pleased to announce the promotion of Mike Gonzalez to Assistant Administrator. In his new role, Mike will work closely with Meg, particularly in overseeing our Skilled Nursing operations. His commitment to our core values and his exceptional skill set in managing healthcare services will be instrumental in strengthening our community’s services.
Please join me in congratulating Meg and Mike on their well-deserved promotions and in offering them your full support as they take on their new roles. We are excited about the future and confident that with their expanded leadership roles, Solheim will continue to flourish and expand its outreach, embodying our mission to serve more older adults and their families.
We’ve received notice that starting Monday, May 6th, the City will initiate repairs on the driveway entrances to our Skilled Nursing Parking lot, along with the alley driveway. Parking on the South side of Merton Avenue will be impacted from May 6th through potentially May 17th. Access to the Skilled Nursing Parking lot will be limited to one entrance and exit. We’re optimistic for an expedited completion! Please inform your visiting loved ones, and we thank you for your understanding and patience during these maintenance efforts.
Masks are strongly recommended for visitors. Staff are no longer required to wear a mask in the Health Center/ Skilled Nursing campus. All Solheim visitors and staff members must continue to conduct self-screening for symptoms of possible COVID-19 infection prior to entry.
