October 15, 2021
To: Solheim Employees, Residents, Family Members and Stakeholders
From: Sam Oden, CEO of Solheim Senior Community
It’s a busy day here at the front office, as we’re preparing for our Paint-n-Sip Fundraiser tomorrow—with many attendees stopping by to pick up their supplies. We’re so grateful to all of our sponsors and underwriters, as well as our attendees, for supporting Solheim; I know we’ll all be having a great time! I would like to take this opportunity to call out our generous sponsors and underwriters:
“Van Gogh” Level Sponsors: Susan and Oliver Stark; Bob and Donna Menzies; Law Offices of David V. Russell; and Ken Kallman, in memory of his mother, Barbara A. Kallman.
“Picasso” Level Sponsors: Woodland Construction; Hanson Bridgett LLP; Vancrest Construction Corp; and David Gibson, of Burnham Gibson Wealth Management, LLC.
“Da Vinci” Level Sponsors: Kelly Tran, Real Estate Advisor; Barbara Rogers; and Luke Harmon.
“Michelangelo” Level Sponsors: The Oden Family; and Ryan Crosner, of Ogletree, Deakins, Nash, Smoak & Stewart, P.C.
General Sponsors and Underwriters: WAXIE; Olga Spilewsky; Doris Samuelson; Mamie Cornett; Gil Moore; Carol Peters; Tina Antypas; and Alan Armstrong.
I’m excited to announce that we have filled the position of Director of Human Resources: Effective October 18th, Taylor Cordova will be joining us here at Solheim. She is coming to us with nearly a decade of relevant HR experience under her belt in the CCRC realm – most recently, with VITAS Healthcare and Human Good. Taylor brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to our leadership team and we are excited for her to get started.
I am pleased to announce we have a new therapy partner, Therapy Specialists. Their team provides exceptional therapeutic care and is committed to working closely with our staff to enhance the continuity of care for the residents of Solheim. They will begin their services on Monday, Oct. 18th.
To remind everyone about our ongoing protocol for visitations: For visitations throughout campus—from our Health Center, to our Residential and Assisted Living Campus, to our Halvorson Memory Care Neighborhood—in accordance with guidance provided by our regulatory agencies, we will now require either proof of vaccination, or proof of a negative COVID-19 test taken within 72 hours of the visitation. (We have rapid testing available on site, Monday through Friday, during business hours for unvaccinated visitors who have not been able to obtain a test within the previous 72 hours. Rapid testing returns results within approximately 15 minutes and there is a $20 administrative fee for this service.)
We also still ask for your continued partnership, diligence, and patience in continuing to follow all of these important rules, until further notice:
Visitors must show proof of vaccination, or a negative COVID-19 test dated within the last 72 hours
All visitors must still continue to check in when they arrive on campus (including temperature and screening questions) and sign our COVID-19 waiver;
We ask that all visitors wear masks and practice social distancing;
All residents, regardless of vaccination status, may have “in-room” visits;
Any personal “in-room” visits in our Health Center should be scheduled in common areas, or when the roommate is out of the room; and
We still continue to encourage outdoor visits or visits in our common areas as much as possible.
As of today’s writing, I am very happy to report that we have no new confirmed positive cases of COVID-19 anywhere on campus.
