Weekly Update May 21, 2021
May 21, 2021
To: Solheim Employees, Residents, Family Members and Stakeholders
From: Sam Oden, CEO of Solheim Senior Community
As I mentioned last week, the Sunroom and Sensory Garden have both been closed this week for renovations. We’ve been digging up concrete in the Sensory Garden—and I’m happy to report that the noisiest part of this project is now behind us! The Sensory Garden will remain closed to staff and residents for several weeks as we finish enhancing that outdoor space. We thank you in advance for your patience as these projects move forward, and I have no doubt that these renovations will result in some truly beautiful refreshed outdoor space for our residents and families to enjoy this Summer!
Our Annual Meeting of the Corporation is scheduled for Sunday June 13th at 4pm. Once again, this year, our Annual Meeting will be held virtually. We will be presenting three new Board Members for consideration to join our Solheim Board of Directors. By way of reminder: This meeting is a gathering of delegates from our ELCA church congregations and other interested parties. If you would like to join us for our Annual Meeting, please contact Tina Antypas to request a link through which you will be able to digitally access this (virtual) meeting.
As I also mentioned last week, our existing visitation guidelines still remain in effect. For visitations throughout campus—from our Health Center, to our Residential and Assisted Living Campus, to our Halvorson Memory Care Neighborhood—we ask for your continued partnership and diligence in following these important rules:
ll visitors must still continue to check in when they arrive on campus (including temperature and screening questions) and sign our COVID-19 waiver;
We ask that all visitors wear masks, practice social distancing, and schedule your visit with Kathy Rust at KathyR@solheimsenior.org;
All residents, regardless of vaccination status, may have “in-room” visits;
Any personal “in-room” visits in our Health Center should be scheduled in common areas, or when the roommate is out of the room;
We still continue to encourage outdoor visits or visits in our common areas as much as possible
As of today’s writing, I am very happy to report that we have no new confirmed positive cases of COVID-19 anywhere on campus.
