Weekly Update May 13, 2022
May 13, 2022
To: Solheim Employees, Residents, Family Members and Stakeholders
From: Sam Oden, CEO of Solheim Senior Community
As I mentioned in our last update, this week we are celebrating all our staff during “National Nursing Home Week. We kicked off off the week with our Leadership Team serving all of our fantastic employees a pancake breakfast on Monday! We finished off the week with lunch served for all staff in our Breezeway. There are many ways that you can help us appreciate our staff during National Nursing Home Week and throughout the year – for example, if the spirit moves you, you may donate towards our Employee Appreciation Fund, or our Employee Education Assistance Fund! For more information, contact Tina Antypas at tantypas@solheimsenior.org or visit our website www.solheimsenior.org/donate. You may also offer kind words through our recognition program at www.solheimsenior.org/employee-recognition. Your thoughtful words help our staff to better appreciate just how their everyday acts of kindness and compassion help to foster an environment of “Abundant Living” for all of our residents!
I am pleased to welcome Lupe Roman (who started yesterday) back into the Solheim Family as our Resident Services Coordinator. Lupe is actually not new to Solheim – she previously worked with us as a CNA for 2 years. Lupe comes back to Solheim with additional experience in social services, however, and she is pleased to be returning to Solheim in her new role!
Ashley Brayman will also be joining our team on May 25th as our new Director of Resident Services. Ashley comes to Solheim with her Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) credentials and over 7 years experience as a Director of Hospitality. She will be working with Lupe in our Activities Department, and they will be the main points of contact for any services our residents may need. Please be sure to welcome each of them when you see them around campus!
Our visitation guidelines remain the same as last week – (please be aware that we stop offering rapid tests at 4:30pm). If you come to visit after that time, we ask that you provide your own proof of a negative Covid-19 test result from within the past 48 hours. I sincerely thank you for your patience, as our guidelines will likely continue to evolve considering changing regulatory guidance. Our current visitation guidelines are:
All visitors in our Residential, Assisted and Memory Care levels of living on campus may visit indoors if the visitor is fully vaccinated OR provides proof of a negative PCR COVID-19 test result within 48 Hours, or a negative Antigen test within 24 hours.
All GENERAL visitors in our Health Center (SNF) must provide one of the following prior to entering the facility for all indoor and in-room visits, REGARDLESS of vaccination status: a negative PCR COVID-19 test result within 48 Hours, or a negative Antigen test within 24 hours.
All ESSENTIAL visitors in our Health Center (SNF) are exempt from the testing requirement and may visit any resident in any zone regardless of vaccination status.
Testing is not required for OUTDOOR visitation.
Indoor visitors and visitors eligible for outdoor visitation must always wear a facemask during the visitation and physically distance themselves from facility staff and other residents and visitors that are not part of their group at all times during the visit.
Alternative communication such as phone calls, video calls, and online communication is always available.
To further mitigate the spread of COVID-19, if you are sick or not feeling well for any reason you should postpone your visit and not come to campus until you’re feeling well again.
Finally, I am pleased to say that, as of today’s writing, we have no cases of COVID-19 on campus.
If you have any specific questions, please direct them to Tina Antypas at 323 257-7518 X225 or tantypas@solheimsenior.org.
