Weekly Update April 22, 2022
April 22, 2022
To: Solheim Employees, Residents, Family Members and Stakeholders
From: Sam Oden, CEO of Solheim Senior Community
A highlight for me this week was bringing my family, including the two little ones, to the community for a visit! They were given official name tags and had a chance to visit with staff and residents! Thank you for welcoming them and saying hello as we toured Solheim.
We are partnering with LACDPH to provide the 2nd Booster Dose to all interested and eligible residents and staff at Solheim on Monday, April 25th at 10:00 am in the Health Center Large Dining Room. This is optional, and if you have any questions, please contact your healthcare professional.
It is with mixed emotions I share with you that Cynthia Slaterus, our Director of Dining Services will be moving on in her career. Her last day with us will be Friday April 29th. Cynthia is looking forward to advancing her career, and we are grateful for the years that Cynthia has dedicated to Solheim. We wish her well in this next chapter. We have an Interim Director of Dining Services in place, and look to fill this position in the very near future.
Our Annual Meeting of the Corporation is scheduled for Sunday June 5th at 4pm. Once again, this year, our Annual Meeting will be held virtually. We will be presenting new Board Members for consideration to join our Solheim Board of Directors. As a reminder: This meeting is a gathering of delegates from our ELCA church congregations and other interested parties. If you would like to join us for our Annual Meeting, please contact Tina Antypas to request a link for access to this (virtual) meeting.
Our visitation guidelines remain the same as last week – (please be aware that we stop offering rapid tests at 4:30pm). If you come to visit after that time, we ask that you provide your own proof of a negative Covid-19 test result from within the past 48 hours. I sincerely thank you for your patience, as our guidelines will likely continue to evolve considering changing regulatory guidance. Our current visitation guidelines are:
All visitors in our Residential, Assisted and Memory Care levels of living on campus may visit indoors if the visitor is fully vaccinated OR provides proof of a negative PCR COVID-19 test result within 48 Hours, or a negative Antigen test within 24 hours.
All GENERAL visitors in our Health Center (SNF) must provide one of the following prior to entering the facility for all indoor and in-room visits, REGARDLESS of vaccination status: a negative PCR COVID-19 test result within 48 Hours, or a negative Antigen test within 24 hours.
All ESSENTIAL visitors in our Health Center (SNF) are exempt from the testing requirement and may visit any resident in any zone regardless of vaccination status.
Testing is not required for OUTDOOR visitation.
Indoor visitors and visitors eligible for outdoor visitation must always wear a facemask during the visitation and physically distance themselves from facility staff and other residents and visitors that are not part of their group at all times during the visit.
Alternative communication such as phone calls, video calls, and online communication is always available.
To further mitigate the spread of COVID-19, if you are sick or not feeling well for any reason you should postpone your visit and not come to campus until you’re feeling well again.
Finally, I am pleased to say that, as of today’s writing, we have no cases of COVID-19 on campus.
