Weekly Update April 8, 2022

April 8, 2022

To: Solheim Employees, Residents, Family Members and Stakeholders

From: Sam Oden, CEO of Solheim Senior Community

You may hear us talk about Solheim being around for nearly 100 years, but Solheim’s Century of Service milestone happens in 2023! That’s right, before you know it, we will be celebrating our Centennial Year! Founded in November of 1923, Solheim’s mission remains the same today! A century of caring for seniors deserves some celebration, and I invite you to participate in our Centennial Committee as they help plan a year of celebration that a Century of Service to seniors deserves! If you’d like to participate in the planning, please contact Tina Antypas (tantypas@solheimsenior.org)!

As I mentioned last week, Solheim is very pleased to invite up to 2 family members of each of our residents to a special Easter Dinner which will take place at 12:00 noon on Sunday, April 17th (for a cost of $28 per person). The deadline to RSVP to this event is next Thursday, April 14th. For reservations, please contact the front desk or email sroman@solheimsenior.org. We hope to see many of you there!

Our visitation guidelines have been updated as referenced below – (please be aware that we stop offering rapid tests at 4:30pm). If you come to visit after that time, we ask that you provide your own proof of a negative Covid-19 test result from within the past 48 hours. I sincerely thank you for your patience, as our guidelines will likely continue to evolve considering changing regulatory guidance. Our current visitation guidelines are:

  • All visitors in our Residential, Assisted and Memory Care levels of living on campus may visit indoors if the visitor is fully vaccinated OR provides proof of a negative PCR COVID-19 test result within 48 Hours, or a negative Antigen test within 24 hours.

  • All GENERAL visitors in our Health Center (SNF) must provide one of the following prior to entering the facility for all indoor and in-room visits, REGARDLESS of vaccination status: a negative PCR COVID-19 test result within 48 Hours, or a negative Antigen test within 24 hours.

  • All ESSENTIAL visitors in our Health Center (SNF) are exempt from the testing requirement and may visit any resident in any zone regardless of vaccination status.

  • Testing is not required for OUTDOOR visitation.

  • Indoor visitors and visitors eligible for outdoor visitation must always wear a facemask during the visitation and physically distance themselves from facility staff and other residents and visitors that are not part of their group at all times during the visit.

  • Alternative communication such as phone calls, video calls, and online communication is always available.

To further mitigate the spread of COVID-19, if you are sick or not feeling well for any reason you should postpone your visit and not come to campus until you’re feeling well again.

Finally, I am pleased to say that, as of today’s writing, we have no cases of COVID-19 on campus.

You can always visit our website for more information at www.solheimsenior.org, but if you have any specific questions, please direct them to Tina Antypas at 323 257-7518 X225 or tantypas@solheimsenior.org.
