Weekly Update January 21, 2022
January 21, 2022
To: Solheim Employees, Residents, Family Members and Stakeholders
From: Sam Oden, CEO of Solheim Senior Community
In last week’s Weekly Update, I mentioned that as reported COVID-19 cases continue to rise dramatically across the area, we have repeatedly had to revise our visitation guidelines on short notice in response to rapidly evolving guidance from regulatory agencies, and I expect that that will continue going forward over at least the next few weeks. I sincerely thank you for your patience as our guidelines evolve. Our visitation guidelines are summarized here:
ALL VISITORS on our campus (Residential, Assisted Living, Halvorson Memory Care Neighborhood and our Health Center) must provide a negative PCR COVID-19 test result within 48 Hours, or a negative Antigen test within 24 hours, REGARDLESS of vaccination status and REGARDLESS of essential visitor status.
Proof of vaccination and booster shot, if eligible, is required for all INDOOR visits.
Outdoor visitation is permitted for those that do not meet the vaccination requirement.
Indoor visitors and visitors eligible for outdoor visitation must always wear a facemask during the visitation and physically distance themselves from facility staff and other residents and visitors that are not part of their group at all times during the visit.
Alternative communication such as phone calls, video calls, and online communication is always available.
Please note there may be a wait time for our staff to accommodate your visit especially over the weekend. Our staff will ensure your visit can be conducted in a manner that adheres to the COVID-19 infection prevention guidelines and does not increase risks to other residents. Please consider our alternative communication methods.
As always, the health and safety of our residents and staff remains our top priority, and we are continuing to monitor and follow all applicable CDC, Los Angeles County Department of Public Health, CMS, and California Department of Health guidelines. Especially during this period when the entire region is seeing a significant uptick in reported COVID-19 cases, to further mitigate the spread of COVID-19, if you are sick or not feeling well for any reason you should postpone your visit and not come to campus until you’re feeling well again.
As of today’s writing, we have one (1) resident in our Halvorson Memory Care Neighborhood, one (1) resident in our Residential and Assisted Living Campus six (6) residents in our Skilled Nursing Health Center, and one (1) non direct care staff member who have tested positive for COVID-19. We will continue weekly testing of all residents and staff.
