RE: Skilled Nursing Health Center Visitation Guidelines

I know we have had several changes to our visitation guidelines over the last week, and I appreciate your help and understanding as we continue to track and implement these evolving guidelines. With that being said, last evening we received yet another update from the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health further revising visitation guidelines within our Skilled Nursing Health Center which will go into effect tomorrow morning – Friday, January 7th.

This Order of the Health Officer issued January 5th states as follows: “ALL VISITORS [to our Skilled Nursing Health Center] must provide a negative PCR COVID-19 test result within 48 Hours, or a negative Antigen test within 24 hours, REGARDLESS of vaccination status and REGARDLESS of essential visitor status. In addition, proof of vaccination and booster shot, if eligible, is required for all INDOOR visits.”

Please note there may be a wait time for our staff to accommodate your visit. Our staff will ensure your visit can be conducted in a manner that adheres to the core principles of COVID-19 infection prevention and does not substantially increase risks to other residents. As a reminder, visitors are not required to schedule an appointment – however, if you’d like to let us know when you’ll be visiting, you are more than welcome to do so.

Ongoing protocol for visitations remains unchanged in our Residential and Assisted Living Campus and our Halvorson Memory Care Neighborhood—in accordance with guidance provided by our regulatory agencies, for unvaccinated visitors we require either proof of vaccination, or proof of a negative COVID-19 test taken within 72 hours of the visitation.

As always, resident (and staff) health and safety remains our top priority, and we are continuing to monitor and follow all applicable CDC and California Department of Health guidelines. We thank you for your continued partnership, diligence, and patience in following these important guidelines.

I’d also like to remind you that if you are sick or not feeling well for any reason you should postpone your visit and not come to campus until you’re feeling well again.
