Update January 3, 2022

January 3, 2022

To:
Solheim Employees, Residents, Family Members and Stakeholders
From: Sam Oden, CEO of Solheim Senior Community

As of today’s writing, we have one (1) direct care staff member and one (1) resident in our Skilled Nursing Health Center Campus who have tested positive for COVID-19.  We will continue weekly testing of all residents and staff.

As a reminder, visitors are not required to schedule an appointment, however if you’d like to let us know when you’ll be visiting, you are welcome to do so.

As always, resident (and staff) health and safety remains our top priority, and we are continuing to monitor and follow all applicable CDC and California Department of Health guidelines. Especially during this period when the entire region is seeing a significant uptick in reported COVID-19 cases, to further mitigate the spread of COVID-19 and until further notice the following measures will be implemented regarding visitation in our Skilled Nursing Facility effective immediately:

·        Health Center visitation hours shall be limited to 10am – 5pm

·        We are not requiring visits to be scheduled, however, please note there may be a wait time in order for our staff to accommodate your visit. Our staff will ensure your visit can be conducted in a manner that adheres to the core principles of COVID-19 infection prevention and does not increase risk to other residents.

·        For all indoor visits, regardless of vaccination status, all Health Center visitors should be prepared to provide proof of a negative PCR COVID-19 test taken within 72 hours of the visit or a negative Antigen test taken within 24 hours of the visit.

·        If you are not able to provide proof of a negative test upon screening/entry, we can only accommodate your visits outdoors or through a window.

·        As mentioned last week, beginning January 1, 2022, we respectfully ask that all visitors obtain their own tests in order to provide proof of a negative test upon screening/entry.  Antigen tests can be purchased online or in pharmacies and retail stores. Here are some links to tests you can purchase below:
                                                        WALMART                WALGREENS                CVS

To remind everyone about our ongoing protocol for visitations in our Residential and Assisted Living Campus and our Halvorson Memory Care Neighborhoodin accordance with guidance provided by our regulatory agencies, for unvaccinated visitors we require either proof of vaccination, or proof of a negative COVID-19 test taken within 72 hours of the visitation.

We thank you for your continued partnership, diligence, and patience in continuing to follow these important guidelines. Safety is always our first priority here at Solheim! I’d also like to reiterate once again that, especially as we enter cold and flu season, if you are sick or not feeling well for any reason you should postpone your visit and not come to campus until you’re feeling well again.

If you have any specific questions, please direct them to Tina Antypas at 323 257-7518 X225 or tantypas@solheimsenior.org.
