Weekly Update February 19, 2021

February 19, 2021

To: Solheim Employees, Residents, Family Members and Stakeholders
From: Sam Oden, CEO of Solheim Senior Community

We continue to slowly and cautiously add more (socially-distanced) communal dining and activities across our entire campus.  This past Wednesday, for example, many staff and residents had the opportunity to participate in a beautiful Ash Wednesday service, with a sprinkling of ashes offered to those who were interested.

To remind everyone, our visitation hours are still from 10am to 4pm, and we ask that all visits be scheduled in advance with Kathy Rust.  At this time, these visits should only be in our outdoor spaces (when weather permits) or in one of our indoor common areas.  We also ask that you limit your visit to 30-45 minutes, so that we can accommodate as many family visits as possible.  Once again, we emphasize that all visitors must follow guidelines, socially distance, and wear face coverings! To schedule a visit, please email Kathy Rust at KathyR@solheimsenior.orgAnd as always, if you are feeling ill, please do not visit our campus!

As we mentioned last week, we are enhancing our employee recognition program.  Each quarter, five (5) employees will be chosen as “Employee of the Quarter”—and all such employees shall be eligible for the “Employee of the Year Solheim Feeling Award” in December! We’ll have a link up soon on our website, but in the meantime, feel free to pick up a nomination card at our front desk.  And speaking of our website, I’m also very pleased to share with you that our updated website is now “live”—and it allows us to highlight some fun additional features.  For example, check out our Solheim Blog and read our most recent article, entitled, “17 Ways to Show Love From 6 Feet Apart”.  Just find us as www.SolheimSenior.org and click on “CONNECT”

Finally, I want to thank everyone who took the time to send in a Resident Satisfaction Survey.  We are sharing the results with our Board and Residents, and you can rest assured that we will use this invaluable input to help identify areas where our efforts can be best and most effectively focused throughout 2021.

As of today’s writing, I am very happy to report that we have no new confirmed positive cases of COVID-19 anywhere on campus.

If you have any specific questions, please direct them to Tina Antypas at 323 257-7518 X225 or tantypas@solheimsenior.org.
