COVID-19 Update January 2, 2021
To: Solheim Employees, Residents, Family Members and Stakeholders
From: Meg Pierce, Sr. Director of Healthcare Services
We have eight (8) direct care staff members in our Assisted Living and Memory Care Campus, and nine (9) residents in our Memory Care Campus who have tested positive for COVID-19. We are continuing to receive test results from our recent round of testing on 12/30.
• We will begin testing all consenting Residential, and all Assisted, and Memory Care residents today and tomorrow, and we will continue weekly testing of all such residents every Saturday and Sunday going forward until further notice.
• We will also begin testing all nursing staff in our Assisted Living and Memory Care campus on Tuesday, and we will continue weekly testing of all nursing staff on campus every Tuesday going forward until further notice.
This weekly testing schedule will continue for all nursing staff and residents, including all consenting Residential residents, until no new cases are identified in two (2) sequential rounds of testing for fourteen (14) days. We will then resume our regular weekly screening testing schedule of 25% of staff.
Once again, out of an abundance of caution, we continue to strongly encourage residents and their families and friends to consider making arrangements for FaceTime calls and/or window visits—rather than in-person face-to-face visits—whenever possible until further notice. And as always, everyone who is physically present on Solheim’s campus at any time, for any reason, is required to maintain appropriate social distance measures and wear an appropriate facial mask.
Resident and staff health and safety remains our top priority—so we are continuing to monitor and follow all applicable CDC and the Department of Health guidelines, and we will continue to remain vigilant for any signs or symptoms of additional COVID-19 spread on our campus.
