Weekly Update March 14, 2025

March 14, 2025
To: Solheim Employees, Residents, Family Members and Stakeholders
From: Sam Oden, CEO of Solheim Senior Community

This past Thursday, the new Residential Council was elected during the Residential Town Hall meeting. We are pleased to welcome back Paul Breckenridge for his second term and introduce Gerald Walters and Richard Hansink, who are joining the Council for the first time.

We also extend our heartfelt gratitude to Mary Rough for her dedicated service, both as a Council member and  Past Chair, as she completes her term.  Continuing their terms on the Council are Ross Swing, Tom Cox, Alice Ward, Carol Hayes, and Barbara Rogers. With a full Council in place, we thank each member for their commitment to our community.

As outlined in the Residents’ Association Bylaws, the purpose of the Residential Council is to:

·         Provide residents with a greater voice in matters of concern and interest.

·         Maintain open communication between residents and staff for the benefit of all.

·         Recommend improvements and assist administration in enhancing services and programs.

·         Foster friendship, charity, and understanding while upholding Solheim’s tradition of “Harmonious Living.”

We appreciate the dedication of our Council members and look forward to another year of collaboration and community engagement!

Exciting events are coming up this week! Cleary’s Irish Dancers will perform on Saturday at 3 PM, and on Wednesday, the 19th, at 10 AM in the Navigage Room, Mike Gonzalez, Director of Residential Health and Wellness, will host a Q&A session—a great opportunity to ask any health-related questions.  For the latest updates, check the monthly calendar in the Fountain Room or tune in to In-House Channel 1390

A quick Merton and Manor Refresh update:
Finishing touches are being completed on the 2nd floor, and paintings will soon be hung in the upstairs corridors as they’re cleaned and repaired.  Next week contractors will be focusing on painting the first floor.  We’ll continue to provide updates—including any requests such as leaving doors open to allow paint to dry.

All staff in our Skilled Nursing Campus must wear a well-fitting, high-quality mask or higher-level respirator. Visitors to our Health Center (Skilled Nursing) are required to wear a mask and will be offered a COVID-19 antigen test before entry.

If you have any specific questions, please direct them to Tina Antypas at 323-257-7518 X225 or tantypas@solheimsenior.org.
