To: Solheim Employees, Residents, Family Members and Stakeholders
From: Sam Oden, CEO of Solheim Senior Community
This weekend marks the start of Daylight-Saving Time! Don’t forget to set your clocks forward one hour on Saturday night and enjoy the extra daylight in the evenings. With spring just around the corner, it’s a wonderful time to embrace the outdoors and take part in all the exciting activities we have planned in the coming weeks!
Tomorrow, you have two fantastic options to enrich your day—join us for Spanish Lessons in the Navigage Room at 11:00 AM, or sit back and enjoy a Classical Music Concert in the Residential Dining Room at 2:30 PM. Looking ahead to next week, we’ll be holding our Resident Council and Town Hall meetings, and this Town Hall will be extra special as we’ll be electing this year’s Resident Council members. If you’re interested in serving, we’d love to have you join! On Wednesday, March 12th, we’re heading out to visit Guide Dogs of America—always a resident favorite! Be sure to check your calendars and tune in to Solheim’s In-House Channel 1390 for daily updates on activities and events.
If you take a stroll on the second floor of Merton Manor, you’ll notice the beautiful new flooring! We’re also preparing artwork for the walls and are so excited about the progress. Our contractors are now shifting their focus to painting on the first floor. Thank you for your patience while we prime doors and prepare—we’ll continue to provide updates, including any requests such as leaving doors open to allow paint to dry.
A quick maintenance update:
Later this month, our maintenance team will begin a new filter cleaning schedule to improve air quality and ensure your heating and cooling units function efficiently. This process will be minimally disruptive, and more details can be found in the separate memo being distributed.
Lastly, to help us serve you better, please remember to submit Work Orders for any non-urgent maintenance needs. Forms are available at the Front Desk and Nursing Stations, and our goal is to complete all requests within 72 hours. However, if you experience an emergency—such as a leak or an overflowing sink—please report it immediately so we can respond promptly.
All staff in our Skilled Nursing Campus must wear a well-fitting, high-quality mask or higher-level respirator. Visitors to our Health Center (Skilled Nursing) are required to wear a mask and will be offered a COVID-19 antigen test before entry.
