Weekly Update November 8, 2024

November 8, 2024
To: Solheim Employees, Residents, Family Members and Stakeholders
From: Sam Oden, CEO of Solheim Senior Community

Thanksgiving is just around the corner, and we are excited to invite residents to bring up to two family members for our Thanksgiving Buffet on Thursday, November 28th, at 12:00 pm, for $30 per guest. Invitations have been sent, so be sure to RSVP by Friday, November 15th. For details, please reach out to Ashley Brayman at abrayman@solheimsenior.org or 323-257-7518 x224.

We are also looking forward to honoring our veterans at our Veterans Day Tribute on Tuesday, November 12th, at 3:00 pm. With retired Major General Mark MacCarley as our keynote speaker, it’s a heartfelt opportunity to recognize the 15 veterans who call Solheim home. Their service and sacrifice are integral to our community, and we are grateful for the chance to show our appreciation.

The time to complete the “Resident Satisfaction Survey” is coming to a close on November 15th! If you haven’t yet filled yours out, please do so—either pick up a paper copy at the front desk or contact Ashley to complete it digitally. Your feedback is essential to help us improve as we head into 2025. Thank you for your participation!

In response to resident requests, we’re offering a monthly opportunity to safely dispose of expired or unused medications. Starting this coming Wednesday, November 13, at 2 pm, you may bring your medications to your nursing station for disposal. Please remember to place your meds directly in the receptacle and handle your own bottles. Look for more information as we approach the 13th!

This Thanksgiving season, we invite you to join us in expressing gratitude to our incredible staff at Solheim.  By contributing to our Employee Appreciation Fund, you’ll be directly supporting the dedicated team members who provide compassionate care to our residents every day. Since Solheim has a no-tipping policy, donations to this fund—whether now or throughout the year—offer a meaningful way to say thank you for their kindness, skill, and dedication. Our staff is truly Solheim's greatest asset, and your support and words of encouragement mean so much.  Visit www.solheimsenior.org/donate to make a donation by December 8th.

All staff in our Skilled Nursing Campus must wear a well-fitting, high-quality mask or higher-level respirator. Visitors to our Health Center (Skilled Nursing) are required to wear a mask and will be offered a COVID-19 antigen test before entry.

If you have any specific questions, please direct them to Tina Antypas at 323-257-7518 X225 or tantypas@solheimsenior.org.
