Weekly Update October 13, 2023
October 13, 2023
To: Solheim Employees, Residents, Family Members and Stakeholders
From: Sam Oden, CEO of Solheim Senior Community
This past week was a busy week for staff here at Solheim! As I mentioned last week, we completed our Annual Skilled Nursing Survey which is an annual survey by the California Department of Public Health. This week, we completed our annual Life and Safety Survey. Once again, I’m very proud of our team and their hard work in getting us through this challenging and important process. Much like our Resident Satisfaction Surveys, these annual licensing surveys provide valuable information that helps us to continue to improve!
Speaking of the Resident Satisfaction Survey, a reminder that next Wednesday October 18th is our deadline to submit your survey. This year we are offering the survey digitally (because it is MUCH easier for us to process the results that way)… but rest assured that we will be happy to assist you in any way that we can! If you haven’t already done so, you may visit the front desk and fill out the survey on the spot. Separate emails have been sent out with the survey link to our residents (or their Durable Power of Attorney for Healthcare). Please help us identify any areas in which we can strive to improve next year by taking the survey – the results will provide us with a good baseline for starting 2024 with a focus on continuing to improve our operations, and your participation is a critical part of this process!
The California Department of Public Health will be hosting the next COVID Booster Clinic next Monday October 16th from 12pm-2:30pm in our Health Center Patio. If you’d like to receive your Booster, you may go at that time to have it administered. If you are not sure if you should receive the Booster, please check with your Health Care Provider.
I was heartened to hear from residents at our Resident Town Hall meeting yesterday that you very much enjoy living with us here at Solheim and want to help bring in new residents! As I mentioned yesterday, we have a “Refer-a-Friend” program which is still underway! Any resident who refers a friend to Solheim will receive an incentive when that referral moves into our community and becomes part of the “Solheim Family.” And in fact, it’s even better than that: Both the current resident and the referred resident will also receive a $1,000 credit on their fourth month’s rent. Please contact Emily Pierce for more information about this program at 323-257-7518 or email epierce@solheimsenior.org.
We are putting the final touches on our Centennial Masquerade Ball which will be held in just 2 short weeks! I want to thank everyone who has participated, donated, and is attending! It is sure to be the highlight of our Centennial Year of celebrations. Please contact Tina Antypas if you’d like to learn more and visit our centennial website at www.solheimsenior.org/100.
Visitation Guidelines remain unchanged from last week. All Solheim visitors and staff members must continue to conduct self-screening for symptoms of possible COVID-19 infection prior to entry.
If you have any specific questions, please direct them to Tina Antypas at 323 257-7518 X225 or tantypas@solheimsenior.org.
