Weekly Update December 23, 2022
December 23, 2022
To: Solheim Employees, Residents, Family Members and Stakeholders
From: Sam Oden, CEO of Solheim Senior Community
It was quite a festive day yesterday, and I enjoyed seeing all our residents and family members as we hosted our Christmas Brunch. I truly enjoyed meeting family members, and seeing all the conversations happening along with the joyful smiles! I’d like to thank our dining staff for a fabulous meal (I’m sure many didn’t need to eat dinner last night), and all our staff who help make an event like this happen. I wish each and everyone of you a wonderful Christmas, and again, am so thankful to be part of the Solheim Family.
As a reminder: Our deadline for donations to our Employee Appreciation Fund is Monday December 26th. Our staff are not allowed to accept individual gifts from residents or their friends and family members. Once a year, however, you can show your appreciation for our staff as a whole by making a monetary donation to our Employee Appreciation Fund, which will then be distributed equally among all staff. You may always offer kind words through our Solheim Feeling Employee Recognition nomination cards found at the front desk or nursing stations, or visit us online at www.solheimsenior.org/employee-recognition. These kind words mean the world to our staff! To make a monetary gift, visit www.solheimsenior.org/donate or contact Tina Antypas.
And one final reminder: Flu season is also upon us – so if you are feeling ill, please stay home! For residents who are not feeling well, we’d be happy to delivery your meals to you in your apartment; just let your nurse know. We appreciate your help as we strive to keep our entire Solheim family healthy this holiday season!
Visitation Guidelines remain unchanged.
All visitors will be screened for a recent diagnosis of COVID-19, symptoms of COVID-19 infection, and close contact exposure.
As of 12/7, all visitors to our Health Center are required to provide proof of negative COVID-19 test within 24 hours of their visit. Solheim will provide rapid tests at the front desk during our visiting hours from 9am to 4:30pm.
Beginning 12/2, all employees in our Health Center must wear N95 respirators in all areas of the Health Center
As of today, we have two (2) residents and two (2) direct care staff members that tested positive for Covid-19 in our Health Center. We continue weekly testing of all staff and residents in our health center.
