Weekly Update August 5, 2022
August 5, 2022
To: Solheim Employees, Residents, Family Members and Stakeholders
From: Sam Oden, CEO of Solheim Senior Community
We have several die-hard Dodgers fans here at Solheim-residents and staff alike! We, like many, are sad to hear of Vin Scully’s passing. He was the voice of baseball; just about everyone has a memory to share of an iconic call, or a chance meeting! Our residents who follow the game share their stories of the early years, or gathering around the radio while sitting at the game!
This coming September 30th game at Dodger Stadium is dedicated to Health Care Workers and on this Health Care Appreciation Night, each attendee will receive a special exclusive healthcare branded giveaway. We would like to send as many employees as are interested to represent Solheim! If you’d like to make a contribution, $150 will help us send 5 employees, $300 covers 10, etc. This is a fantastic opportunity for us to show our thanks to our workers. You may leave your donation at our front desk and mark Dodgers in the memo line, or give online at www.solheimsenior.org/donate or CLICK HERE. Please make your donation by Monday August 15th so that our Solheim crew may all sit together, and cheer on the Dodgers representing Solheim together!
As I mentioned last week, we are excited to announce the opening of our Outpatient Rehab Office at Solheim, where we can now provide physical, occupational and speech therapy to residents in our Residential, Assisted, and Memory Care Neighborhoods of campus. Thank you to all who participated in our Open House yesterday!
Our visitation guidelines remain the same as last week (please be aware that we stop offering rapid tests at 4:30pm). If you come to visit after that time, we ask that you provide your own proof of a negative Covid-19 test result from within the past 48 hours. I sincerely thank you for your patience, as our guidelines will likely continue to evolve considering changing regulatory guidance. Our current visitation guidelines are:
All visitors in our Residential, Assisted and Memory Care levels of living on campus may visit indoors if the visitor is fully vaccinated OR provides proof of a negative PCR COVID-19 test result within 48 Hours, or a negative Antigen test within 24 hours.
All visitors in our Health Center (SNF), including essential visitors who were previously exempt from all visitor testing requirements, must provide one of the following prior to entering the facility for all indoor and in-room visits, REGARDLESS of vaccination status: a negative PCR COVID-19 test result within 48 Hours, or a negative Antigen test within 24 hours.
Testing is not required for OUTDOOR visitation.
Visitors must always wear a facemask during the visitation and physically distance themselves from facility staff and other residents and visitors that are not part of their group at all times during the visit.
Alternative communication such as phone calls, video calls, and online communication is always available.
I am pleased to say that as of today we have no new residents or staff who have tested positive for COVID-19.
