Weekly Update May 12, 2023
May 12, 2023
To: Solheim Employees, Residents, Family Members and Stakeholders
From: Sam Oden, CEO of Solheim Senior Community
This week we celebrated our wonderful team members with Team Member Appreciation Week with various “theme days” throughout the week. – This is a great opportunity to tell a team member just how much you appreciate them. To that end, a friendly reminder that you can always fill out a “Solheim Feeling” employee recognition form found at any nursing station, at the front desk, or online at www.solheimsennior.org/employee-recognition.
This weekend, we celebrate Mother’s Day! Mothers are certainly worthy of the highest celebration—but of course, Mother’s Day isn’t just a day for celebrating our own mother. It’s a special day for honoring all of the women in your life who support and nurture you… from your sister, to your aunt, to your grandmother. Happy Mother’s Day!
Looking ahead to later in the month, we’ll be celebrating Memorial Day, and “Syttende Mai” – or Norwegian Constitution Day – to name just a few more exciting events coming up. (For those who don’t know, or might have forgotten, Solheim’s name actually comes from the Norwegian term “Sun Home.” You can learn more about Solheim’s history of 100 years of serving seniors right here in the Eagle Rock community at www.solheimsenior.org/100.)
Our Annual Meeting of the Corporation is scheduled for Sunday June 11th at 4pm. Once again, this year, our Annual Meeting will be held virtually. We will be presenting new Board Members for consideration to join our Solheim Board of Directors. As a reminder: This meeting is a gathering of delegates from our ELCA church congregations and other interested parties. If you would like to join us for our Annual Meeting, please contact Tina Antypas to request a link for access to this (virtual) meeting.
Visitation Guidelines remain unchanged from last week. Masks are no longer required for residents, team members and visitors however are still recommended or encouraged. Masks are still required for all team members and visitors to our Health Center (Skilled Nursing). All Solheim visitors and staff members must continue to conduct self-screening for symptoms of possible COVID-19 infection prior to entry. We ask all staff and visitors to confirm the following upon entry:
Currently have no known COVID-19 infection;
Not experiencing symptoms associated with possible COVID-19 infection; and
Have not had close contact, within the last 14 days, with another person known to have a COVID-19 infection
As of today, we have no new staff or residents who have tested positive for Covid-19.
