Weekly Update July 9, 2021
July 9, 2021
To: Solheim Employees, Residents, Family Members and Stakeholders
From: Sam Oden, CEO of Solheim Senior Community
This past Tuesday, we implemented our new “tray-less” program to enhance the dining experience for our residents in our Health Center. This program will help to ensure that each resident’s food is served hot and/or fresh as soon as they are seated and ready to eat, and our goal is to implement it for all three meals by October.
A “Save the Date” for Halvorson families: On July 24th at 11:30, we will be celebrating “Summertime with Family” by hosting a luncheon that is specially designed for our wonderful Halvorson residents and their friends and family members. In light of the recent refreshment of our Halvorson Patio (which turned out beautifully!), we thought that now would be a perfect time to invite everyone to come celebrate “Summer at Solheim” in that beautiful space. Invitations will be sent out soon – but for everyone’s information in the interim, this event will run from 11:30 am – 1:30 pm, and lunch will be served at noon. (For more information, please feel free to contact Kathy Rust at KathyR@solheimsenior.org.)
Renovation continues to move forward in our other outdoor spaces, and I thank you all for your continuing patience and partnership as we work hard to refresh all of the beautiful outdoor spaces around campus.
As a reminder, our front desk “Summer hours” will be 8:30am – 5pm. Should you be visiting outside of these hours, we ask that you please enter and check in through the Health Center.
For visitations throughout campus—from our Health Center, to our Residential and Assisted Living Campus, to our Halvorson Memory Care Neighborhood—we also still ask for your continued partnership and diligence in continuing to follow all of these important rules, until further notice:
Our recommended visitation hours are 10am – 4pm daily, however if you are visiting outside regular business hours, please know you will be entering our campus through our Health Center doors;
All visitors must still continue to check in when they arrive on campus (including temperature and screening questions) and sign our COVID-19 waiver;
We ask that all visitors wear masks and practice social distancing;
All residents, regardless of vaccination status, may have “in-room” visits;
Any personal “in-room” visits in our Health Center should be scheduled in common areas, or when the roommate is out of the room; and
We still continue to encourage outdoor visits or visits in our common areas as much as possible.
As of today’s writing, I am very happy to report that we have no new confirmed positive cases of COVID-19 anywhere on campus.
