Weekly Update May 20, 2022

May 20, 2022

To: Solheim Employees, Residents, Family Members and Stakeholders
From: Sam Oden, CEO of Solheim Senior Community

Lupe Roman, one of the newest members to our Solheim Team, has hit the ground running and is already making a great impact here on campus!  Lupe (who started last Thursday) comes back into the Solheim Family as our Resident Services Coordinator.  Lupe is actually not new to Solheim – she previously worked with us as a CNA for 2 years.  She joins Solheim with additional experience in social services, however, and she is very pleased to be returning to Solheim in her new role!

As I mentioned last week, Ashley Brayman will also be joining our team next week on May 25th as our new Director of Resident Services.  Ashley comes to Solheim with her Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) credentials and over 7 years’ experience as a Director of Hospitality.  She will be working with Lupe in our Activities Department, and they will be the main points of contact for any services our residents may need.  Please be sure to welcome both Lupe and Ashley when you see them around campus!

I’m thrilled to say that over the last few months, we have welcomed several new residents into our Solheim community—and, on a related note, here is a reminder that our “Refer-a-Friend” program is still underway!  Any resident who refers a friend to Solheim will receive an incentive when that referral moves into our community and becomes part of the “Solheim Family.” And in fact, it’s even better than that: Both the current resident and the referred resident will also receive a $1,000 credit on their fourth month’s rent.  Please contact Mamie Cornett or Lucy Laloyan in our Sales and Marketing Department for more information.

Our visitation guidelines remain the same as last week – (please be aware that we stop offering rapid tests at 4:30pm).  If you come to visit after that time, we ask that you provide your own proof of a negative Covid-19 test result from within the past 48 hours.  I sincerely thank you for your patience, as our guidelines will likely continue to evolve considering changing regulatory guidance. Our current visitation guidelines are:

  • All visitors in our Residential, Assisted and Memory Care levels of living on campus may visit indoors if the visitor is fully vaccinated OR provides proof of a negative PCR COVID-19 test result within 48 Hours, or a negative Antigen test within 24 hours.

  • All GENERAL visitors in our Health Center (SNF) must provide one of the following prior to entering the facility for all indoor and in-room visits, REGARDLESS of vaccination status: a negative PCR COVID-19 test result within 48 Hours, or a negative Antigen test within 24 hours.

  • All ESSENTIAL visitors in our Health Center (SNF) are exempt from the testing requirement and may visit any resident in any zone regardless of vaccination status.

  • Testing is not required for OUTDOOR visitation.

  • Indoor visitors and visitors eligible for outdoor visitation must always wear a facemask during the visitation and physically distance themselves from facility staff and other residents and visitors that are not part of their group at all times during the visit.

  • Alternative communication such as phone calls, video calls, and online communication is always available.

As of today’s writing, we have four (4) residents in our Halvorson Memory Care Neighborhood who have tested positive for COVID-19.   We will continue weekly testing of all residents and staff in Halvorson neighborhood, and visitation guidelines have not changed in our Halvorson neighborhood.

If you have any specific questions, please direct them to Tina Antypas at 323 257-7518 X225 or tantypas@solheimsenior.org.
