COVID-19 Update January 7, 2021
To: Solheim Employees, Residents, Family Members and Stakeholders
From: Meg Pierce, Sr. Director of Healthcare Services
We have six (6) residents in our Residential and Assisted Living Campus, four (4) residents in our Memory Care Neighborhood, and three (3) staff members (two (2) non direct, and one (1) direct care) in our Health Center who have tested positive for COVID-19. As we mentioned in our previous communication, and in an effort to further mitigate the spread of COVID-19, we continue with the following measures:
All communal dining, group activities, and indoor visitation are canceled until all residents and staff test negative for two (2) sequential weeks of testing (i.e., 14 days).
Residents are being served all meals on trays with disposables.
Outdoor scheduled visits are limited to 30 minutes in length, and attendance shall be capped at a maximum of 3 individuals per visit. In addition, the latest that any such visits may be scheduled is between 3:30pm to 4:00pm (after which time Solheim will close to visitors).
Only residents who are confirmed to be COVID-19 negative are able to schedule in-person outdoor visits or window visits. Residents with indeterminate COVID-19 status, or who are confirmed to be COVID-19 positive, are limited to FaceTime calls.
Our current availability for in-person outdoor / window visits is as follows:
Health Center:
In-person outdoor visits on the patio from 1:30pm to 3:30pm every day.
Window visits from 10:00am to 11:00am or 1:30pm to 3:30pm every day.
Memory Care:
Window visits from 10:00am to 11:00am or 1:30pm to 3:30pm every day.
Residential/AL:
In-person outdoor visits in the breezeway from 10:00am to 11:00am, and again from 1:30pm to 3:30pm, every day.
Once again, out of an abundance of caution, we continue to strongly encourage residents and their families and friends to consider making arrangements for FaceTime calls and/or window visits—rather than in-person outdoor visits—whenever possible until further notice. To schedule or check availability, email Kathy Rust at kathyr@solheimsenior.org. And as always, everyone who is physically present on Solheim’s campus at any time, for any reason, is required to maintain appropriate social distance measures and wear an appropriate facial mask.
