Weekly Update December 23, 2020

To: Solheim Employees, Residents, Family Members and Stakeholders
From: Sam Oden, CEO of Solheim Senior Community

(Note: Due to the Christmas Holiday, this will serve as our Weekly Update.)

First and foremost, I’d to wish all of our extended Solheim family—our wonderful residents, our fantastic staff, and their own family members, friends, and loved ones, near and far alike—a safe, joyous, and Merry Christmas!  This is a season for profound hope, and it is my own personal hope that we will all take at least a brief moment or two to reflect on the events of this past year (both good and the bad alike), and then use that reflection as a springboard to look forward to the future with a renewed sense of optimism and purpose.

COVID-19 vaccines are now being rolled out across the nation to designated “at risk” populations within our larger community—and for the convenience of any interested Solheim staff and residents, we are currently working to put a system in place that will help to facilitate their access to vaccination.  For more information about the vaccine(s) that are being rolled out, and the vaccination process (including the order in which it will be made available to different populations within the community), we strongly recommend that everyone take a moment to look at the latest guidance put out on the CDC website (www.cdc.gov)—and of course if you have questions or concerns, we also strongly recommend that you reach out to your primary care physician.

As always during these trying times, Solheim remains firmly committed to protecting the health and safety of our residents and staff. Please remember that everyone on campus will be required to maintain appropriate social distance measures and wear an appropriate facial mask at all times—and (as always) please don’t come at all if you are experiencing any symptoms of any illness!

Our Activities staff is completely booked with a full schedule of family calls on Christmas Day.  These 10-15 minute Facetime calls are scheduled throughout the day, ending at 4:00 pm.  Please reach out to Kathy Rust at kathyr@solheimsenior.org if you have any questions, or need to see if we have an opening.

We also continue to offer virtual tours and accept new applications for residency in all areas of our campus. If you would like more information, please contact our Director of Sales, Lucy Laloyan, at 323 257 7518 X212 or LucyL@solheimsenior.org.

We have one (1) new resident and one (1) new direct care staff member in our Skilled Nursing Campus that have tested positive for COVID-19.  Out of an abundance of caution, we are currently asking friends and family to please consider scheduling Facetime calls, rather than in person visits, whenever possible until further notice.

You can always visit our website for more information at www.solheimsenior.org, but if you have any specific questions, please direct them to Tina Antypas at 323 257-7518 X225 or tantypas@solheimsenior.org.
