Weekly Update February 21, 2025

February 21, 2025
To: Solheim Employees, Residents, Family Members and Stakeholders
From: Sam Oden, CEO of Solheim Senior Community

You may have noticed that our trees around campus have been trimmed! While they may look a bit bare now, this is the perfect time for pruning—Spring is just around the corner, and soon we’ll see fresh new growth. Thank you for your patience as we continue to care for and beautify our campus.

Speaking of campus improvements, the Merton & Manor Refresh Project is progressing beautifully. Fresh paint, new handrails, and updated carpeting are bringing new life to our community spaces. We appreciate your patience as we work toward completing these enhancements.

Looking ahead, next week is the final week of February, and we have a variety of engaging activities planned. Be sure to mark your calendar for: Tuesday the 25th at 10:30am with a Scam Prevention Program, several opportunities for sing-a-longs,  games, cooking club, and a Happy Hour on Friday with Live music!  Check your personal calendars and tune in to Solheim’s In-House Channel 1390 for daily event updates!

At our recent Town Hall, we emphasized the importance of submitting Work Orders for any maintenance or assistance needs. If you require non-urgent support, Work Order forms are available at the Front Desk and Nursing Stations. Our goal is to address all requests within 72 hours. However, if you experience an emergency—such as a leak or an overflowing sink—please report it immediately so we can address it right away.

Lastly, we encourage you to submit "Solheim Feeling" Employee Recognition Nominations! These nominations help us select our Employees of the Quarter and our Employee of the Year. If you’d like to recognize a staff member for their kindness, dedication, or outstanding service, please fill out a nomination card at the Front Desk or Nursing Station. You can also submit nominations online at www.solheimsenior.org/employee-recognition. Your kind words mean the world to our fantastic staff!

Thank you for being a part of our wonderful Solheim community!

All staff in our Skilled Nursing Campus must wear a well-fitting, high-quality mask or higher-level respirator. Visitors to our Health Center (Skilled Nursing) are required to wear a mask and will be offered a COVID-19 antigen test before entry.

If you have any specific questions, please direct them to Tina Antypas at 323-257-7518 X225 or tantypas@solheimsenior.org.
