Weekly Update March 15, 2024
March 15, 2024
To: Solheim Employees, Residents, Family Members and Stakeholders
From: Sam Oden, CEO of Solheim Senior Community
For those who were not able to attend our Town Hall Resident Association Meeting yesterday, I’d like to take this opportunity to share with you the members of your Resident Council. Join me in welcoming Ross Swing as our Chair, Tom Cox as Vice Chair, Carol Hayes as Treasurer, and members Ingrid Kocourek, Paul Breckenridge, Alice Ward and Mary Rough. The purpose of the Resident Council is to promote open communication between Solheim’s residents and management. You may contact any Council member to express any concerns or suggestions that you have. As always, you are also welcome to approach any Leadership team member with any concerns or suggestions as well.
This afternoon residents enjoyed a lively and entertaining St. Patrick’s Day themed Happy Hour. The celebrations continue tomorrow with a visit from Cleary’s Irish Dancers. We’ll have dancers ranging in ages, entertaining us with both soft shoe and hard shoe styles of Irish dance. Join us at 3pm in the Residential Dining Room! As I mentioned last week, next Tuesday, March 19th is the First Day of Spring. Join us for our ’First Day of Spring’ Tea Party at 3pm in the Residential Dining Room. These and many more activities can be found on your Monthly Calendar, our Weekly Informer, as well as signs posted throughout campus. Don’t forget, you will also find the daily activities and menus on our Solheim In-House Channel. Just tune into channel 1390 for daily updates!
As we near the end of the first quarter of the year we are accepting nominations for our “Solheim Feeling” Employees of The Quarter, and as always, we greatly welcome your kind words and accolades. You may submit a nomination online at www.solheimsenior.org/employee-recognition or find a form at our front desk and nursing stations! Get those in right away to be counted towards the 1st Quarter nominations! We also continue to accept donations towards our Employee Appreciation Fund year-round. Visit www.solheimsenior.org/donate to make a donation or contact Tina Antypas for more information on setting up a monthly automatic donation.
Masks are strongly recommended for visitors. Staff who are not vaccinated with both the influenza and COVID -19 vaccines for 2023- 2024 winter season are still required to wear a mask in the Health Center/ Skilled Nursing campus. Masks will be provided at the Front Desk. All Solheim visitors and staff members must continue to conduct self-screening for symptoms of possible COVID-19 infection prior to entry.
You can always visit our website for more information at www.solheimsenior.org, but if you have any specific questions, please direct them to Tina Antypas at 323 257-7518 X225 or tantypas@solheimsenior.org.
