Today we celebrated Employee Appreciation Day, and I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to each and every member of our team. I am filled with pride when I reflect on the fact that I have the honor of collaborating every day with a group of people who are as committed and compassionate as our wonderful team here at Solheim. Together, we regularly celebrate over a hundred years of service in our monthly all staff meetings—a remarkable testament to our collective commitment to this organization and this community. I invite you all to join me today, and every day, in extending a kind word or a gesture of appreciation to our incredible staff. I can tell you that such acts of kindness resonate deeply and help to reinforce the bonds of our community. To all of our staff members: thank you for embodying the values of love, peace, dignity, and security for which Solheim stands!
Speaking of our employees, I’ll also take this opportunity to remind you that our Employee Appreciation Fund is available for donations all year, not just in December. And as yet another reminder, your “Solheim Feeling” Employee Recognition Nominations help us to select our Employees of the Quarters and choose our Employee of the Year… so please be sure to share your recognition of our wonderful employees by filling out a nomination card that can be found at our Front Desk, or any Nursing Station. Our March calendars are now available and can be found on our website as well as around campus. Don’t miss out on some fantastic upcoming activities and outings this month! We have a movie matinee to look forward to… restaurant outings… our Walking Club (which will be visiting the Flower Market in Downtown LA as well as the Eagle Rock Plaza right here in beautiful Eagle Rock)… and of course, several fun scheduled games and “Happy Hours”! We’ll also have a special St. Patrick’s Day Celebration complete with Irish dancers, as well as a “First Day of Spring” tea party! There’s much to be excited about here on campus – so check your calendars regularly, and also be sure to tune in to our very own Solheim In-House Channel 1390 each day!
Masks are strongly recommended for visitors. Staff who are not vaccinated with both the influenza and COVID -19 vaccines for 2023- 2024 winter season are still required to wear a mask in the Health Center/ Skilled Nursing campus. Masks will be provided at the Front Desk. All Solheim visitors and staff members must continue to conduct self-screening for symptoms of possible COVID-19 infection prior to entry.
