CITY OF LOS ANGELES PASSES RESOLUTION
CELEBRATING SOLHEIM’s CENTENNIAL
Solheim was founded in Eagle Rock in 1923 when it was a separate city. Soon after, the voters of Eagle Rock chose to become part of the City of Los Angeles. Eagle Rock is in L A’s Council District 14. Solheim turned to Michael Nogueira, long-time Eagle Rock booster, to contact the staff at the district office and request a resolution honoring the Centennial. A draft of the resolution was provided by Solheim staff. The resolution was presented to the Los Angeles City Council and passed with an effective date of June 11, 2023, the date of Solheim’s Annual Meeting. The signed resolution was officially presented to Solheim in August at a Council meeting, with representation from Solheim’s Board and Staff.
Here is the text of the final paragraph: “Now therefore be it resolved, that by the adoption of this resolution on June 11, 2023, the Los Angeles City Council does hereby join the Eagle Rock community in celebrating Solheim Senior Community’s Centennial Anniversary, its legacy of selfless service to our seniors, and the vision that it will continue to provide outstanding care for older adults for another 100 years to come.
